Thank you for visiting Academy of Dance Arts on the web! Former Artistic Director Susan K. Stocken Forrester founded the school, the Academy of Dance Arts, in 1981 to offer instruction in the classical and non-classical world of music, voice, theatre, and movement in the greater Kalamazoo area. We are especially proud of our Fantasy Castle classroom for our youngest students.
Since 1982, The Academy of Dance Arts, has worked actively with the greater Kalamazoo Area Chamber of Commerce, the Kalamazoo Public Schools Community Education Program for children and adults, Mattawan Public Schools, Vicksburg Performing Arts Center, Portage Senior Center, the Kindleberger Summer Arts Program and many other organizations with it’s Community Outreach Programs. For children through adults, we take dance and the arts to the community, visiting schools, businesses, and organizations with after school or after work programs, our lecture series, performances, and over $5000 in scholarships awarded annually.
